Mantra: Talks Production, Sneaker Social Club, EQ50 & Much More

Mantra also known as ‘Indi’ Khera, is a staple in the drum & bass community. She has an exceptional aptitude for music, whether it's running her own club nights under the bracket of Rupture, DJ'ing across the country, or putting out high-calibre releases on her label.

Indi's first inspirations came from listening to the likes of Dj Flight, Storm, Alleycat and Kemistry on cassettes. Setting a fire inside her, that continued to grow. Many years passed where she struggled to find bookings in an impenetrable industry, so she set out to start something new. Indi & Double O, decided to create their own imprint.

Rupture was born in 2006, paving the way for up and coming artists, the pair listened to countless mixes giving everyone a fair shot at being booked for sets. Even moving names around on a line up to create an impartial dynamic, this helped people discover new artists that they may never have heard of, and also kick started careers. Such as Decibella, Manifesto, Sabrina and many more heads that have been pioneering the scene recently.

Renowned for their free spirited parties, Rupture hosts Drum & Bass events which have gone down in history, from their event back in March 2019 at Corsica Studios where DJ Storm, Flight, Mantra & Panka, Djinn, Sherelle, Flava & Sweetpea graced room 1. Providing Ruptures first all female line up, diversifying the scene.

Their approach to running nights in an ever growing digital era still holds that vibe reminiscent of the early 90's. It's a sad sight, to look at a sea of iPhones & androids covering the dancefloor. However, Ruptures ethos brings that 'enjoy the moment' feeling into full effect. They have carved out a place where phone's stay in pockets and people let loose.

Most recently her efforts have been recognised by DJ Mag, becoming nominated for the 2022 Underground Hero's category alongside David (Double O), for creating a unique, diverse, and all encompassing space for people to come together and enjoy music.

Another one of Indi's ventures is EQ-50, a collective of DJ's & Producers in the scene that are striving for change and a fair representation of women & non-binary artists in Drum & Bass. Exposing big name brands & venues that could do more to support inclusivity, they also offer mentorship by collaborating with Critical Music, Function Records, Shogun Audio, Ram Records and V Recordings. Going into this with a driving passion for change the girls were apprehensive of what would come of it, but the support received by the movement has been immense.
